This is probably one of the biggest third-party markets for computer and especially laptop accessories. The main reason for this is the switch that a lot of people are making from CDs. All you have to do, for the most part, is connect your USB-compatible hard drive to your computer and drag and drop the files you want to store on it.

You don’t necessarily need the same brand hard drive as your computer; however, often times these will be most suitable for your computer’s needs. For example, an IBM laptop hard drive works best with an IBM laptop. Most computer manufacturers also make components - there are Compaq laptop hard drives, Dell laptop hard drives, Toshiba laptop hard drives, etc. This is why it is important to find out some of the advantages that certain hard drives will offer for your specific make and model of laptop.
