About Ergonomic Chairs

Ergonomics is the applied science of equipment design. Ergonomic design comes into play in the workplace and is intended to maximize productivity by reducing weariness and discomfort. Ergonomics takes human limitations (anatomy, physiology and psychology) into account and applies them to the design of everyday objects - automotive controls, instruments or in our case office chairs.

Ergonomic office chairs are designed to make your work environment a safe and comfortable place to be. If your job has you sitting in a fixed position day after day, you will inevitably end up with aches and pains. Ergonomic designs allow you to adjust your seating position throughout the workday so you can sit and work comfortably.
Ergonomically designed office chairs offer the following functions to make your workplace more comfortable:

  • Seat Height - lowers or raises the chair to your work area
  • Seat Angle/Tilt - adjusts to reduce stress in your lower back and upper thighs
  • Back Angle - adjusts to reduce fatigue to back and thighs
  • Backrest Height - adjusts to support your upper and lower back
  • Backrest Depth - adjusts to accommodate longer or shorter leg lengths
  • Lumber Pump -adjusts to support the natural curve of your lower back
  • Armrest Height - supports your arms during varying tasks and adjusts to suit varying work heights
  • Armrest Width - adjusts to suit your shoulder span
  • Headrest Height -adjusts to fit head in contoured headrest
